Training
On this page we will provide information about training and education opportunities relating to research governance and regulatory issues. Information about relevant courses will be added in due course.
For those research staff/researchers who work on UKCRN Portfolio studies, the UKCRN provides a range of free training and education courses, some of which are related to research governance. Information about a range of research-related courses can also be obtained on the RDLearning web site.

Pharmaceutical Quality Group (PQG) Seminar for Trainee & Recently Qualified QPs “Clinical Trials and the QP”
12 November 2008, Astra Zeneca R&D Facility, Loughborough
The seminar is aimed at trainee and recently qualified QPs. It will provide a forum for discussion, as well as contact with other Qualified Persons and relevant extra training.
The days programme will include:
- Presentations on “Clinical Trials and the QPs role” and “Quality by Design”
- A tour of the Astra Zeneca Clinical Trial Facilities at Loughborough
- Clinical Trials based QP Scenario Questions to help delegates to prepare for the QP Viva

The NHS R&D Forum and the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) have arranged a course on monitoring skills for non-commercial trials running in Liverpool, Edinburgh and Oxford.
